BOARD OF DIRECTORS RESOLUTION
[November 29, 2006]
Donald A. Flater
Relating to:
The contributions of Donald A. Flater to radiation protection of the citizens of Iowa, the nation, and in particular, his many contributions to the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors, Inc. (CRCPD).
Whereas:
Donald Flater has given 26 years of professional radiation protection service to the State of Iowa in addition to several years of service to the States of Kentucky and Illinois, and the Federal Government; and
Whereas:
During his 26 years with the State of Iowa, Don has been a strong supporter of the CRCPD; and
Whereas:
In his support of the goals and objectives of the CRCPD, Don has served in many positions for the organization, including, but not limited to:
- CRCPD Chairperson;
- Member of the Board of Directors; and
- Member of many working committees.
Whereas:
In recognition of his outstanding work in protecting the citizens of Iowa from radiation exposure, and serving the nation as a whole through his work with the CRCPD, Don was awarded the Gerald S. Parker Award of Merit, the organization’s most prestigious award; and
Whereas:
Because of Don’s dedication and self-sacrifice to his chosen profession, he is most deserving of a pleasant retirement.
Now Therefore, Be It Resolved:
That Don Flater is hereby recognized and praised for his many years of dedicated public service to the citizens of Iowa by providing leadership and guidance to the state’s radiation control program; and
Be it Further Resolved:
That Don Flater is hereby recognized and appreciated for his many years of service to the Conference of Radiation Control Programs Directors, a service that benefits all citizens in the United States from unnecessary radiation exposure, and as such hereby grants Mr. Flater with “Life Membership” in the CRCPD; and
Be it Further Resolved:
That the CRCPD Board of Directors and the staff of the Office of Executive Director express to Mr. Flater their sincere wish for a most pleasant, relaxing and rewarding retirement.
