Board of Directors Resolution

Greta Joy DicusWhereas:
Greta Joy Dicus will step down as a Commissioner of the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) at the end of June 2003;Whereas:
Having served in an exemplary manner during her terms as an NRC Commissioner and as Chair, Ms. Dicus has continued to support the important role that state radiation control personnel play in regulatory issues at both the state and national level;
Whereas:
Ms. Dicus has provided the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors, Inc. (CRCPD) significant opportunities to partner with NRC in our mutual regulatory missions;
Whereas:
Prior to her service on the Commission, Ms. Dicus was responsible for protecting the citizens of Arkansas from unnecessary radiation exposure;
Whereas:
Ms. Dicus has been active in national programs that benefited not only the Arkansas Radiation Control and Emergency Management Program, but radiation protection programs throughout the United States;
Whereas:
The CRCPD has recently awarded Ms. Dicus with their most prestigious honor, the Gerald S. Parker Award of Merit, in recognition of her exemplary professional service to the state radiation control programs and to the nation as a whole;
Now Therefore, Be It Resolved:
That Greta Joy Dicus is worthy of high respect and appreciation for her many years of support of the aims of the CRCPD where she was active in committee activities that addressed radioactive waste, strategic planning, and bonding and surety issues.
Be It Further Resolved:
That Greta Joy Dicus is hereby recognized and commended by the CRCPD Board of Directors for her outstanding professional career in support of national public health goals related to protecting the citizens from unnecessary radiation exposure while providing them the benefits that can be derived from proper use of radioactive materials.
